Melissa Bass is the owner of Bass Insurance Solutions, Inc., an independent insurance agency committed to helping individuals, families, seniors, and business owners understand their insurance coverage and make informed decisions with confidence.

Melissa began her career in healthcare and insurance in 1988, giving her nearly four decades of experience helping people navigate healthcare, insurance benefits, and the financial decisions that come with them.

Long before becoming an independent insurance agent, Melissa worked on the other side of the insurance card.

She spent 11 years in the business offices of Aiken Regional Medical Centers and Aurora Pavilion, where her responsibilities included verifying insurance benefits, obtaining authorizations, filing and resolving claims, reviewing coverage with patients, and helping them understand what their insurance actually meant when they needed care.

Her healthcare experience also includes working at the former St. Joseph Hospital, assisting patients with financial assistance, insurance claims, billing issues, and payment arrangements. She later assisted patients with Medicaid, disability, and financial assistance programs at MCG, worked in physician offices, and taught medical billing, coding, and electronic health records at the college level.

Melissa holds both a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Education (MEd). Her background in business, education, healthcare, and insurance has shaped the way she serves her clients today: by educating first, listening carefully, and helping people understand not only what coverage they have, but how that coverage works.

Today, through Bass Insurance Solutions, Melissa helps clients navigate Medicare, individual and family health insurance, employer and small-group health coverage, life insurance, and supplemental insurance solutions.

As an independent agent, Melissa is able to represent multiple insurance carriers and help clients explore their options based on their individual circumstances and needs.

But choosing coverage is only part of the relationship.

Melissa believes people deserve to understand their coverage — not simply be enrolled in it.

Her responsibility to her clients does not end when an application is submitted or an enrollment is completed. She is there before, during, and after enrollment to answer questions, explain benefits, help clients understand their coverage, and assist them in navigating insurance issues when they actually need to use their benefits.
